(1) Château Le Breton (C.B. 2015)

Appellation Bordeaux Superieur Contrôlée (14%)

Made from 35-year-old Merlot grape, the wine is medium bodied with plum notes on the nose. The palate has a ripe black fruit character combined with mineral and a touch of clove and cinnamon spice.

Recommended with: Roast Pork & Beef


(2) Château relais de La Poste, Cuvee Malbec (C.B. 2012)

Appellation Cotes de Bourg Controlée (13%)

Deep ruby in colour this fine Malbec has blackberry aromas with toasted wood. On the palette, these characteristics are confidently reinforced, where full black fruit tastes are firm but smooth, the ideal dining accompaniment.

Recommended with: Lamb & Beef


(3) Château Penin (C.B. 2012)

Appellation Bordeaux Superieur Controlée (13.5%)

Supple, exuding sweet blackcurrant, bilberry and nuances of cloves all plumped up with nice oak. Made by Patrick Carteyron from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Lovely wine, very highly regarded.

Recommended with: Lamb and Road Duck


(4) Château Ricaud (C.B. 2012)

Appellation Cadillac Cotes de Bordeaux Controlée (13.5%)

Made mainly with Merlot. The complex bouquet reveals ripe fruit aromas Of strawberry and cherry, together with a hint of liquorice. Very generous on the palate, structured by lovely rounded tannins, evolving towards a long, savoury finish with well-integrated oak character.

Recommended with: Entrecote & Lamb


(5) Château La Croix Fourney (C.B. 2012)

Appellation Saint Emilion Grand Cru Contrôlée. (14%)

Merlot based with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has a plummy bouquet of cherry, blueberry and violets. Smooth on the palate with notes of black cherries, plums and blackcurrants, with notes of sweet spice such as cinnamon and vanilla. Excellent structure with a lingering finish.

Recommended with: Roast Veal and Game


(7) Château Poujeaux (C.B. 2005)

Appellation Moulis Contrôlée. (13,5%)

Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, this blend is offering ripe aromas on the nose, and a very well-adjusted wood balance. It's a very rich, dense and generous wine with very tasty sweet tannins.

Recommended with: Beef with mushrooms & Lamb Casserole


(8) Chateau Haut Marbuzet (C.B. 2006)

Appellation Saint Estephe Controlée (13%)

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the wine has a perfumed bouquet with redcurrant and cranberry scents, slightly savoury and meaty along with spicy, cedar, medium bodied texture, and sweet tannins.

Recommended with: Roast Lamb & Guinea Fowl


(9) Château Gloria (C.B. 2009)

Appellation Saint Julien Controlée (13%)

Medium. full bodied with fresh blackberry, chocolate and cherry scents. On the palate, wonderful stuffing, a full, rich wine with generous aromas.

Recommended with: Beef & Venison
